We rolled out the red carpet for a night of celebration
On May 29, 2010, the Glenn Pelham Foundation for Debate Education held its first annual fund raising dinner to celebrate 25 years of urban debate in Atlanta. It was a wonderful event. Civil rights icon and U.S. Representative John Lewis delivered an inspiring speech, and a portrait of Rep. Lewis was given in his honor by the Glenn Pelham Foundation to the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. Andrea Young, Executive Director of the Andrew Young Foundation, accepted the gift on behalf of the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. The dinner included a spirited live auction and speeches by Melissa Wade, Kenya Davis and James Roland.
