Kacey attended Emory University and represented the school in NDT/CEDA debate, winning the Kentucky Round Robin and Harvard tournament, making it to the finals of CEDA Nationals and obtaining multiple first round bids to the NDT; including 3rd place in the race for the Copeland Award her senior year. She graduated with a double major in Political Science and Women’s Studies. During college, Kacey was also a lab leader at many high school debate camps including ENDI and Iowa Scholars, in addition to helping launch the Washington, D.C. UDL, as well as a coach for the high school policy debate teams at the Marist School and Chattahoochee High School. After college Kacey graduated from the University of Michigan law school and worked in NYC as an attorney in private practice at various AmLaw 100 law firms including Morgan, Lewis & Bockius and Hunton Andrews Kurth, and in-house at Fortress Investment Group and FirstKey Mortgage. Kacey also worked on the political campaign for Richard Aborn who ran for Manhattan District Attorney.
